Graphic Designer

Blouse House Creative – New River Valley, VA

Full Time | 32–40 hours per week | Hourly pay based on experience

  • Blouse House Creative is looking for a motivated, detail-focused Graphic Designer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who loves design but also enjoys hands-on production work—turning creative ideas into real, tangible products.

    You’ll create designs, work with clients, prepare files, run print equipment, help with production tasks, and support daily shop operations. As you grow, you’ll take on expanded responsibilities including pricing, cross-training, and client communication.

  • Design

    • Create visually compelling designs for print, signage, branding, and digital content.

    • Prepare production-ready files (sizing, bleeds, color profiles, material specs).

    • Collaborate with clients on revisions, proofs, and approvals.

    • Maintain consistency across client and in-house brand assets.

    Printing

    • Operate and monitor large-format and digital printers.

    • Prepare materials and files for printing, laminating, cutting, and finishing.

    • Troubleshoot minor issues with printers.

    • Ensure accurate color, alignment, and print quality.

    Shop Support

    • Assist with production tasks such as trimming, laminating, vinyl weeding, and assembly.

    • Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked.

    • Help prepare orders for pickup and delivery.

    • Support daily workflow and communicate job status to the team.

    • Occasional out-of-office work for assisting on installations, client meetings, and community events.

    Client Interaction

    • Greet customers and assist with walk-ins in a friendly, professional manner.

    • Answer phones and support basic customer questions.

    • Assist with proofs, pickup coordination, and project details.

    • Represent Blouse House Creative with excellent customer service.

  • Required

    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

    • Graphic Design degree OR equivalent experience with a strong portfolio.

    • Strong attention to detail and file accuracy.

    • Ability to learn new equipment and production processes.

    • Strong communication and time-management skills.

    • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

    Preferred

    • Experience in a print shop, sign shop, or related production environment.

    • Familiarity with large-format printing or finishing equipment.

    • Understanding of color theory and print materials.

    • Customer service experience.

  • Working Conditions

    • In-person role in a creative studio and production environment.

    • Standing for longer periods of time and lifting rolls of vinyl.

    • Fast-paced environment with collaborative workflow.
